I looked at the back record sleeve and say a stick-insect of an I’m the type of girl who is perfectly happy with dogs and rugby shirt looking like a cool alien — his singing sounded like nothing I’d ever heard before. After that, I was hooked. Thus ushered in post-punk and New Wave and I was home again. Love The Cars, particularly the song “Drive.” Also had a Ric Ocasek sighting shopping for paint in downtown Manhattan in the late 80s.
